Android is feature-rich and comes with many ways to convert sound recordings. We will be using the additional app for this method. Google Play store has many apps that support audio recording and conversion. we will be using the app called Audio converter-All formats.
Step 1: Go to play store and Download the Audio converter app.
Step 2: Open the Audio converter and provide required permissions.
Step 3: Tap on converter and select the File that you want to convert to MP3 or other formats. Once the file is uploaded you can proceed with selecting the required format.
Step 4: Select the file format. The app provides 10 file format. Select the one as per your requirement.
Step 5: Tap on Convert. The conversion will finih within seconds. The app displays the convert audio files as well. So you wont need to bother searching it again.
How to Convert Voice Memos from M4A to MP3 on iPhone
If you are an iPhone user, then this method is for You. You can use iTunes on your system to change the file format. Since most don’t have access to a PC we are going to show you a different method that doesn’t require a PC.
For this method, we are going to use an App called Awesome Voice Recorder PRO AVR. The app is available for free on the App Store. Follow the below steps to convert voice memos into MP3.
Step 1: Head to app store on your iOS device and Download the AVR app.
Step 2: Open and AVR app and set it up.
Step 3: Go to voice Memos app and select the voice memo that you want to convert.
Step 4: Tap on 3 dots and Select Share. A share pop-up memu will appear. Select Copy to AVR.
Step 5: Open AVR and select the imported folder. Select the recording and tap on Edit.
Step 6: File Format pop-up menu will appear. Choose the File format that you require. You can also convert memo into iPhones’s ringtone.
The recording will be created and stored in AVR folder.

Here is another method that you can use to convert voice recordings or voice memos. It is an online method and you won’t need to download the app. This method can be used on any device. It may be used in Windows, Android, Mac, Linux, etc. However, this method is not ideal for large files. The speed depends upon your network connection.
Step 1: Open any browser on your device.
Step 2: Type https://online-audio-converter.com/ into the address bar and hit Go.
Step 3: You will be presented with the Home page which contains an option to upload the recordings.
Step 4: Select Open file and upload the recordings.
Step 5: Select the file format and quality you want and click on convert.
