iPhone SE(2022)

Amongst the COVID-19 lockdown, companies like Apple and OnePlus have been releasing smartphones to increase the options available to the customers, both in completely different price points. Today, however, we are only gonna talk about the iPhone SS(2020). The SE(2020) was released on 15th April and took many of us by surprise. Here is a brief overview of the device so far. Stay tuned to get our full review.

What’s New

Well most of us were pleased to hear that the SE(2020) comes with Apple’s A13 Bionic chip, the same that comes in the iPhone 11 series. It’s surprising to see the company’s most powerful processor at this price point. It comes with the latest iOS 13, continuing the trend that’s going on.

Compared to the previous-gen SE, we have a bigger display, a 4.7-inch 750×1344, and what Apple calls a Retina-HD display. It also comes with an IP67 dust and water rating. It has a glass body and comes in 3 variants- White, Black, and (Product) Red. The base variant has 3GB RAM and packs 64GB internal memory.

It also comes with wireless charging and Apple’s proprietary fast charging. The touch-id makes its comeback with this device, and amidst this situation, it can come in really handy. It rocks a single camera setup on the front and back. On the back, we get a 12-megapixel camera with an f/1.8 aperture. On the front, we get a 7-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 aperture

The camera department takes advantage of the A13 chip’s processing and brings portrait mode to this device. It also has a Depth Control now, which allows you to adjust the amount of blur before or after you click the picture. On the video side of things, it can now record 4k videos, a major bump from 1080p.

The battery life is similar to the iPhone 8. Apple claims that you can binge-watch for 13 hours straight on a single charge and using an 18W power supply(which is not included in the box) you can go from 0 to 50 in just half an hour. It also now has a dual sim capacity( a Nano-SIM and an eSIM). Audio sharing has made its way to the SE(2020) that allows you to connect 2 wireless earphones(only the ones supported by Apple) at the same time.

My Thoughts

The SE(2020) feels a lot similar to the iPhone 8. This year has been Apple providing minor spec bumps in old devices. It essentially is the same story as the SE(2020). The A13 Bionic chip allows the device to do so much more. It provides a refreshing feel to this device. Also with this device apple is trying to target the 35k+ price point in India. If you are considering this device, you should definitely go for a OnePlus 7t or a Samsung Galaxy S10e. Both of these devices are so much better than this one. However, if you are really looking to get an Apple device, with the latest specs, this is the one you should go for.
